Go Anywhere with the 2010 Si
As most of you know, the Si is our lightweight stroller, intended for an on-the-go lifestyle. It hit stores last April and since has received great reviews. Users appreciate its weight, maneuverability and Travel System capabilities. So when it came to updating the product for 2010, we didn’t feel the need to mess much with the makeup of the stroller—except for one thing.
For 2010, the Si will have a bumper bar! Made of plastic, covered in felt, the Si’s new bumper will be sturdy enough to allow baby to experience the world around him and flexible enough to allow the stroller to fold with the bar still attached. Adding the bar also ensures greater ease of use for the stroller’s Travel System capabilities, as it holds the Primo Viaggio SIP 30/30 car seat in place while mom or dad affixes the included straps.
Like all of our bumper bars, it’s both hinged for easy access to baby and completely removable for when baby gets older and desires to climb in and out of the stroller on her own. Or, the bar may be completely removed. 2010 fabrics for the Peg Perego Si include Java, Red Step, Black Step, Tropical, Nero, Kiwi, and Pepper (new!) And don’t forget that the Si will also be a part of a pre-packaged Travel System with our new Primo Viaggio ES!
2009 Si Fact Sheet available here.

When will the new 2010 Si be available?
Sharon,
We expect the 2010 Si to be available in December, but some retailers may choose to wait until January to offer the product.
Thanks!
Amanda
Is that December 2009? If so, will it be available in the US then? I hope so! I’m due in spring 2010 and would love to purchase the new Si!
Tara,
Yes, the Si is expected to be available in December 2009….definitely in time for your due date!
amanda
I just got the 2009 Peg Perego Si and it didn’t include the car seat adapter straps plus the left stroller handle broke off. I’ve emailed but didn’t get a reply yet. It’s so disappointing since I got it for the car seat compatibility and supposedly sturdy construction. I hope I get feedback soon.
Ana,
So sorry about this! I’ve contacted Customer Service with your information. If you haven’t heard back from them yet, you should soon!
Amanda
hi, Amanda!
We *really* want this stroller (with the bumper bar), but our due date is January 3rd! Is there ANY way to get it sooner than December or to guarantee a specific date in December?
Thanks!
Jim
Jim,
I doubt it would be possible to get a hold of the 2010 Si before December…and as for a specific date, because each retailer will begin offering out 2010 products on their own timeline, it’s just not possible for me to set an official date. Your best bet is to be in contact with a local retailer. They’ll be able to keep you informed as to when they expect to see the models in stock and when they’ll start offering. They may even allow you to preorder, so that you have the product as soon as they get it.
Hope that helps! Let me know if you have more questions,
Amanda
On the amazon site, when I check out the Si, there is a Proposition 65 warning. What exactly does this warning means? And will the new 2010 model still have the same warning?
Thanks
Charles,
Proposition 65 is basically a law in California that gives consumers the right to know about potentially harmful chemicals in some products.
The Si doesn’t require the Proposition 65 warning, so I’m not quite sure why it’s there. Perhaps it’s just there to give general information and make people aware? I guess I’m about as baffled as you.
Anyway, you don’t have to worry about Proposition 65. It doesn’t pertain to the product.
Thanks for asking!
Amanda
Will the SI be available in this December worldwide?
Another question, is the new SI with bumper bar can be folded the same way as the 2009 model?
Helen,
The 2010 Si will fold the same way as the 2009 Si–even though we’ve added the bumper bar!
I’m not sure on the time frame for the release of the 2010 collection worldwide, although I suspect January is the goal. You can call Peg Perego Canada at 1-800-661-5050 for information on the Canadian release, and Peg Perego SpA at (011) 39-039-6088213 for more information on the European, South American and Asian release dates.
Hope this helps!
Amanda
I’m in Japan and have just bought the 2009 Si but really, really wished it had a bumper bar! Will the 2010 bumper bar be sold separately and if so could it be attached to the 2009 SI?
Frances,
Thanks for your comment!
The 2009 Si is not compatible with the bumper bar. This is because the 2009 model wasn’t made with the bar in mind. Sorry about that.
Please let me know if I may be of further assistance,
Amanda
i saw in the Italian 2010 edition its a SI Completo will that be available in the US or Canada before the Summer 2010. I really love this version of the Si
Carmen,
Good question! In Europe (and some other countries) we offer both the Completo and Classico version of our products. As you’ve found, the Completo version includes a few more accessories, such as a boot and rain shield. In the US, the Completo version isn’t available. However, it is sometimes available in Canada. I know that our 2010 Canadian collection is planning on carrying a Switch Completo. But as for a Si Completo, I’m afraid that product won’t be available in the US or Canada (from what I know…I’m not as familiar with the Canadian collection). If helpful, feel free to contact Peg Perego Canada for more specific information on the Canadian line:

I was wondering why I could not find the Peg Si Stroller in Baby R Us website in the United States and now is already January 2010. Can you please give me the update for it? I really need to buy this stroller soon.
Monica,
Babies R Us may just not be ready to offer the 2010 products, however, I’ve seen the new Si available with many online vendors. If you conduct a Google search and click on the “shopping” tab, it’ll show you quite a few options for purchasing the 2010 SI online. Just be sure to double check the retailer with our list of authorized retailers. The list is incomplete, so if you’re interested in buying from a retailer that isn’t listed, shoot me an email and I’ll double check for you.
Let me know if I can be of further assistance!

Hi,
I have a question regarding the car seat compatibility.
Is the Chicco Keyfit 30 still compatible with the 2010 model?
thanks!
Hi!
I was wondering if the Peg Si 2010 is compatible with the Chicco Keyfit 30 car seat.
Thanks!
Kim,
It should be compatible. The new Si has adapter straps that work a bit differently than the old Si’s straps in that they wrap around the part of the car seat where the handlebar attaches to each side of the infant seat. This new design makes it so that even more infant seats are compatible with the Si!
Hope that helps!
Amanda
Amanda,
Additional question in regard to Kim’s previous question about other infant car seat:
So the adapter strap is included with the 2010 Si’s stroller right? So I dont have to purchase it again. I have Graco Infant Snug Ride – Platinum car seat. Btw I found the website and thanks for the info.
Thanks,
Monica
Monica,
Yes, the adapter straps come with the Si, so there’s no need for an additional purchase!!
Glad you like the blog!
Amanda
What is the weight of the 2010 Perego Si? Is it heavier than the 2009 model?
April,
The 2010 Si is a bit heavier than the 2009 model, since it does include an additional feature (the bumper bar). The weight for the new Si is 7,1kg or 15.5 pounds.
Thanks!
Amanda
hi,
i am interested in getting the 2010 si with the car seat. but i’m wondering what’s the difference in fabric between the SIP and the ES? should i get the travel system that comes with the ES car seat or get the SIP separately with the si stroller? whats the ES’s safety record?
thanks
trish
Trish,
The SIP car seat has our confort dry fabric, meaning it’s higher quality and will better help baby’s skin breathe. The ES has good fabric as well, but it’s not as good.
And, the ES is a brand new car seat, so I don’t have any records on it, but rest assured that from a safety stand point it is just as good as the SIP 30/30 and is used with the same LATCH system base as the SIP 30/30.
For many families, choosing the pre-packaged Travel System over buying the individual products is a matter of price and convenience. The pre-packaged Travel System is about $50 cheaper than if you would buy the items separately, and it comes in one box, making shipping/transporting much easier.
If money and the single box isn’t important, the I suggest going with buying the units separately. That way, you’ll get the more convenient features of the SIP 30/30 and a better fabric selection!
Let me know if I can help any further!
Amanda
I’m deciding between the Si and the Vela. My baby is 5 months and I’m looking to buy a stroller in the next month.
I want a stroller that is light enough to be carried around New York City (up and down subway steps), but strong enough to take a beating while going around the city.
To compare the two models, how do they differ on:
– Recline – do either fully recline?
– Fold – seems like the Vela is one handed, while the Si seems more involved
– Weight – Si is heavier, correct?
– Maneuverability – which is better?
– Carrying diaper bag – which stroller has more storage? which would support a heavier bag? even thought the Vela is lighter, it seems to be able to handle a bigger/heavier bag.
Thank you in advance.
Melissa
Melissa,
- Neither the Vela nor the Si fully reclines. The Vela has more recline options, however, as its recline mechanism is a strap that you adjust to be tighter or looser, thus moving the stroller seat’s backrest up and down.
- Personally, I find the Si’s fold to be easier than the Vela’s, but both have been known to be “One-hand folds”. It all depends on the user, as some find one fold to be better than the other. You can see the Si’s fold here. Because of its umbrella fold, the Si’s fold is also a bit smaller than the Vela’s.
- Yes, the Si is heavier by a few pounds
- Hmm….I’m going to go with the Vela on this one, because of its larger wheels and three-wheel design. In my opinion, this makes it a bit easier to maneuver, though both strollers are great in this capacity.
- I believe both the Si and Vela will support bags across their handlebars, particularly the Borsa Mamma diaper bag. So both are quite sturdy in that department, but I’d say the Vela’s basket is a bit easier to access.
I hope this is helpful, and just as a suggestion you may want to consider the P3 if you truly expect your stroller to take a beating. The Vela and Si are great for city travel, but the P3 brings durability up a notch (granted, it’s a few pounds heavier than the SI).
Thanks, Melissa! Let me know if I can be of further assistance!

Hi Amanda,
I am looking for the rain cover for my new 2010 Si stroller. Any idea where can I find one? Are the rain covers for the other stroller models compatible with the Si?
Thanks!
Lisa
I am glad I found this blog, it is very informative!
Could you please tell me if Navetta or Navetta XL can be mounted on Si chassis and how? Can the Si seat be removed to do this or the carrycot goes on it (like car seat does)?
Is the Chicco Synthesis car seat compatible with the Si?
Thanks a lot!
Ivana
Lisa,
We have some rain cover options for the Si! Just call or contact </aour Customer Service department at 1-800-671-1701.
Hope that helps!
Amanda
Ivana,
I don’t think the Navetta bassinet is compatible with the Si. Now, I’m not very familiar with this product, since it’s not available in the US. I think, though, that it’s useful only with the modular p3 chassis.
I do, however, think the Chicco Synthesis would be compatible with the Si, considering the Si uses adapter straps to affix car seats to the unit. On the 2010 Si, the straps wrap around each side of the car seat where the handle attaches. But, since it’s not a US car seat, I can’t be for sure.
To speak with our European Customer Service department (Milan, Italy), you can call (011) 39-039-6088213.
Let me know if I may be of further assistance!
Amanda
Can I buy the adapter straps for the Si separately as an accesory? would you be so kind to tell us where?
Last year we bought a Sí model that doesn’t come with this straps, could that be possible.
many thks.
Maria Laura
Laura,
Hmm…the adapter straps should have come with the stroller. Please contact Customer Service about this at your earliest convenience. They may be reached at peregoservice@perego.com or by phone at 1-800-671-1701.
Let me know if there’s anything else I may do for you!
Amanda
Thanks for an informative blog. I’m disappointed to know that the bumper bar for the 2010 Si isn’t able to be retrofitted to the 2009 Si (which I purchased last year). The attachment of the bumper bar doesn’t appear complicated, is there a way to purchase the bumper bar separately and fit it to the 2009 Si? Thanks!
Is the 2010 model compatible with a Graco Infant Snugride 32 car seta?
Thank you,
Leah
Just to further refine my query regarding compatibility of the 2010 Si with a Graco Snugride 32 Car seat, I would be purchasing the stroller in Canada and want to be sure it is compatible with this car seat.
Thank you,
Leah
Denis,
I’ve heard from a few parents who would like the bumper bar to be compatible with their older Si model, but unfortunately it’s not. Sorry about that, Denis.
Let me know if there’s anything else I may do for you! (and sorry for taking so long to reply).
Amanda
Leah,
Thanks for your comment!
The 2010 Si uses adapter straps to affix the Primo Viaggio car seat. Because of this, there’s a good chance the straps will work with the Snugride! You see, the straps work by wrapping around the part of the car seat where the handle attaches to the seat body on either side. So there’s a good chance that it’s compatible. But, since we don’t test our strollers with every car seat (we really stand by our Primo Viaggio!) I can’t be 100% sure. If possible, it would be worth taking the car seat to a local retailer who carries the Si and trying it out.
Let me know if I can be of further assistance! (and sorry it’s taken me so long to reply).
Amanda
Leah,
Ah….The Canadian Si isn’t different from the US one, from what I’ve heard. If you like, you’re more than welcome to call Peg Perego Canada’s Customer Service line to inquire: 1-800-661-5050.
Thanks!
Amanda
Hello,
I placed an order for SI travel system from Comfort1st.com and they still have not shipped the system. Has anyone received this travel system from any other online site? I am looking for sites which can ship it immediately.
Thanks
I love my 09 Si. Is there a bumper bar adaptor for that stroller, if not, are you making one?!
RR,
Hmm…. their website certainly indicates they have it in stock. You should probably give them a call and check on when they plan to ship. I haven’t received any complaints or questions regarding the status of the pre-packaged Travel Systems in awhile. Naturally, I’ve just assumed that everything’s on track. My thought is Comfort1st may be restocking or something.
Give Comfort1st a call and if it’s not going to work out with them, we can check with other retailers.
Amanda
Lauren,
Glad to hear you’re happy with your Si!
Unfortunately, there isn’t a bumper bar attachment for the 09 Si. Neither are there plans to make one. Sorry about that.
Let me know if you have further questions!
Amanda
Hello Amanda,
Thanks for your reply. I send Comfort1st an email and they replied as below. We want to buy it right now and cannot wait till 23rd. Any help is appreciated. Thanks
“Thank you again for your order. We would like to let you know that your order for a PEG PEREGO 2010 SI TRAVEL SYSTEM – PAPRICA has been scheduled to ship out during the week of February 22nd. This is only an estimated time and your order may ship out sooner.
Please do not hesitate to contact with any questions you may have regarding this shipment and one of customer service representatives will be happy to assist you.
Thank you very much and hope you have a great day!
Comfortfirst
Customer Support”
RR,
I checked with Sales, and apparently we don’t have any in stock. We’re set to receive a shipment from Italy on 2/22 for existing orders, and another on 3/8 for new orders. So sorry about this. I really wanted this to work out with your time schedule, but it doesn’t appear that it will.
If you’re still interested in the Si, it may work out if you purchase the stroller and Primo Viaggio SIP separately. We have a color called Pepper that is similar to the Paprica color. I believe these products should be in stock.
I also totally understand if you need to go in a completely different direction with your purchase.
Feel free to let me know if I may help out in any way. Again, I’m so sorry for this inconvenience.
Amanda
I’ve read a lot of reviews on the Si and one complaint I come across often is that the basket underneath is somewhat flimsy and can drag on the ground. Has this been addressed in the 2010 model?
Chunsa,
Yes, I’ve read about this complaint too. The only thing I can think of is maybe the users are putting too much weight in the basket. The basket is designed to hold up to 11 pounds. Because of the way it is designed, it is quite stretchy, so I can imagine how it may stretch way out and drag if too much weight is in it.
Anyway, to answer your question, the 2010 Si’s basket has not been redesigned. It’s the same as the 2009 basket.
Let me know if you have more questions!
Amanda
I’ve noticed the Si Completo 2010 comes with a boot – what exactly is this for? What other differences are there between the Completo and the Classico? Also, does the Completo fold with the boot on? I understand the Si Completo 2010 will not be sold in the US or Canada, correct? So what suggestions do you have to purchase one? Do I have to get it overseas and ship it over to the US? Or is there a way to get a boot for US version of the Si Classico?
Joyce,
The boot is for colder weather. It’s a hot item in Europe, where families spend more time outside walking to their destination than we do here in the US. Because of this, we offer the Classico version of our strollers in the US and not Completo.
You could try having a retailer ship the Completo model to you, but most retailers refrain from shipping products outside of the country. This is for warranty/return reasons. We cannot uphold our warranty on a product that is used outside of it’s designated area. This is primarily for safety reasons, as each country has its own specific and important rules and regulations when it comes to baby products. And it is also because of these rules that we are unable to sell you European products directly.
In a nutshell, I’m not sure how you’d go about getting a Si Completo in the US apart from going over to Europe and bringing it back with you. But beyond that, due to safety and warranty regulations, I really can’t recommend that you do this. It would just be setting yourself up for problems down the road.
Sorry to bring the bad news. I know this whole thing is frustrating and confusing at times, but please know that I’m here to help. Don’t hesitate to reach out.
Amanda
I’ve just had my Si 2010 delivered and it doesn’t come with a raincover – where can I get one?
I went to the store and played with the SI. I found that putting the infant seat onto the stroller wasn’t very sturdy. It seemed like the straps helped, but wasn’t very secure – the infant seat could be bumped and toppled over quite easily. Of course the baby was not yet in it, so not sure if the weight would help, but regardless it did not seem secure. If there are others who have used the SI with the infant seat, I would love to hear your thoughts on convenience, use, and stability. Amanda, any thoughts you have about using the SI with the infant carrier? Or would it be better said that the SI better without the infant carrier but just happens to allow for the combined use? And this was when testing it with both a the Peg Perego car seat and a Chicco Keyfit30. I’m now leaning on the P3 which seems a bit more secure – in terms of using it with the infant car seat. Thoughts are appreciated.
Btw, could you share the complete dimensions of the SIP carseat? Many websites state different weights, but in the store it seemed quite heavy in comparison to other seats. Thanks!
Karen,
Please contact Customer Service at peregoservice@perego.com or by calling 1-800-671-1701.
Let me know if there’s more I may do for you!
Amanda
Joyce,
Hmm…the seat shouldn’t feel loose. The Si has been tested as a Travel System and is just as reliable as the P3 travel system that uses the ganciomatic hooks. For what it’s worth, I haven’t received any complaints about the system and consistently recommend it to friends who are expecting.
I really don’t know what happened in your experience…My only thought here is that it’s possible the seat wasn’t attached properly. It’s not a big deal…I know how difficult it can be to navigate unfamiliar products in an unfamiliar environment.
Steps get left out or not executed properly…and sometimes the retailers don’t always catch it (they have so many different products to keep track of!). Anyway…that’s not to say it DID happen, but it’s just something to keep in mind.
As for the P3, it’s definitely an easier to use system. Simply snapping the seat in place is such a breeze. No need to tighten or readjust. All you have to do is make sure the seat is reclined and then listen for the click! I’d say if the P3′s method of attaching the car seat makes you feel more secure, then maybe that’s your answer. Many times, it just comes down to whatever product feels the best!
Does that help? If you want, you can reiterate the steps you went through to attach the car seats and we’ll see if something maybe went wrong…?
Let me know!
Amanda
Joyce,
The Primo Viaggio SIP car seat is 11 pounds. It’s true that it’s a few pounds heavier than some other models.
The dimensions are:
Height: 24.5″
Width: 17″
Length/Depth: 26″
Let me know if you have more questions!
Amanda
I have the 2009 SI and was wondering if it was possible the buy the boot seperately to fit this model. I am in Canada and my son has outgrown his infant car seat so a boot would be handly to get him out of the car and into the stroller in the cold. thanks.
AV,
I’m not sure if there is a boot accessory available in Canada, but you can try their Customer Service line: 1-800-661-5050
That should get you the info you need!

[...] have quite a few questions lately, asking me to differentiate between the Si and the new Vela. Both are lightweight. Both are deemed “travel-ready” strollers. Both are [...]
Hi Amanda,
I love this Blog, it is very helpful.
My question about the 2010 Si is about a tray versus the bumper bar. I noticed there is a new accessory tray for the Skate, will it work on the Si? If not, is Peg Perego going to make a tray that can be snapped onto the Si instead of the bumper bar?
thanks,
Ann
hi Amanda,
I have Pilko Switch 2010,so could I take it on the flight. I really need it in a long transit time.
Ann,
Thanks for the kind support!
Unfortunately, we don’t have anything for the Si that will operate as a snack tray, and I haven’t heard anything from Italy about something similar being in the works. Sorry about that. If you’re interested in an umbrella stroller with a snack tray, the P3 is a great option. It’s a bit heavier than the Si, but also more ready for longer trips (where you’d have a greater need for a snack tray).
There’s also the Vela. The Vela is quite a bit different than the Si (it’s lighter, folds differently, accepts the Primo Viaggio directly, etc), but it’s intended use is pretty much the same as the Si’s (indoor shopping).
If you have additional questions, don’t hesitate!
Amanda
Yen,
Yes, you can take the Switch on a plane, but you should gate check it. Also, to further protect it, you should purchase a Gate Check bag from JL Childress or maybe even Wal-Mart or Target. These bags are inexpensive and will see to it that your stroller is protected from some of the rough handling.
If you contact JL Childress directly, I’m sure they’ll be more than willing to recommend a bag to fit the Switch.
Let me know if there’s more information I can provide!
Amanda
I pre-ordered my Si (Pepper) from Amazon and just got an email saying it’s not available until July 2010! Can I get this color from another retailer?
I had the exact same experience as Chunsa. Help! I need this stroller for a trip and am not keen the other color options. Too bad there isn’t a blue.
Chunsa,
Thanks for your interest. I’m sorry, but the si in pepper won’t be available to anyone until July. It was a late addition to our collection, so we are waiting for them to arrive from Italy.
Let me know if there’s anything else!
Hi Amanda,
What is the child weight/height limit of the 2010 Si? I have read different values regarding the weight limits on various websites which range from 30 lbs to 45 lbs? Is this the same as the 2009 Si? Also, how do these limits compare to the Vela?
Thanks,
Ana
Thanks so much for your questions, Ana! I am working to gather the best information to accurately answer your questions, so I should have a response to you sometime later on today. Sorry for the delay, and please don’t hesitate to ask anything else I may be of assistance with!
We have the Chicco Keyfit30 car seat and need to know definitely if it will be compatable with the 2009 Si and also if it is compatable with the 2010 Si. Thank you.
hi i love this pushchair and although the red is nice, i would like to see a nice pink one, how often do new colours come out? this is a great blog.
thanks
Ana,
Sorry it’s taken me so long to get back to you! I truly applogize.
The weight/height limit on the Si is 45lbs/43″. I know some people have been commenting that its limit is something around 30lbs, and my only guess is that they’re getting that information from a the European or Canadian Collection.
These limits are the same on the Vela, and also on the 2009 Si.
Let me know if there’s more information I may provide!
Amanda
Helen Churchill,
Though we haven’t tested it (and therefore can’t say for sure), there’s a good chance the Keyfit is compatible with the 2009 Si. The Si uses adapter straps that slide in to the car seat’s seat belt notches. You can see a video of it here. If the Keyfit has these notches, then chances are it will work with the Si’s straps. To be sure, you can always take your Keyfit to an authorized Peg Perego retailer and try it out.
Let me know if there’s more information I may provide!
Amanda
Michelle,
So glad you like the blog!
We come out with new fabrics every year, at the beginning of the year. The colors you see on the Si’s pages at http://www.pegperego.com are from 2010 collection. The colors you see at pegperegousa.com are from our 2009 collection.
If you’re looking for a feminine color for the Si, may I suggest the Nero fabric and then pairing it with a more feminine car seat fabric?
Or, if you’re from outside the US, there may be a few additional color options available to you. Check http://www.pegperego.com to see.
Hope that helps!
Amanda
This is a strange questions. I am planning on purchasing the si classico and using it for a summer trip to disney world. I was going to buy it in Nero, but I am wondering if the fabric would get too hot in the sun…. I am surprised this is the first time I am thinking about this. both our car seat and current stroller have black fabric. Anyway just wonder what your thoughts are! Thanks!
I just got my 2010 Si today and there is no side carrying handle! Why is this changed??
Kelly,
That’s a very understandable question!
I think the Nero fabric would be fine. I’ve never received a complaint regarding the darker fabrics retaining heat more than the lighter fabrics. So, I say you’ll be fine with the Nero. AND, don’t forget the Si comes with a great canopy that will help deflect some of that heat!
Amanda
Jen,
Hmm … The 2010 Si does have the side carrying handle, so I’m not sure what happened. If you would, please contact Customer Service at peregoservice@perego.com at your earliest convenience!
Amanda
Hi,
I am in Hong Kong and would like to buy the Si 2010 stroller but the local retailers can’t tell when the new model will be available here. I was told that the bumper bar can be added to the 2009 version, is it true? Is there any way I can buy the 2010 model other than through local retailers(as they are selling 2009 only)? I tried to order it through Amazon but failed as baby products is retricted and can’t be shipped to Hong Kong.
Thanks!
KK,
I really unfamiliar with the products we sell in Hong Kong, so it would be best if you contacted Peg Perego headquarters in Milan, Italy (Milan handles all areas aside from the US and Canada). They may be reached at (011) 39-039-6088213. Please keep in mind that it will be a long distance call.
They will be able to answer your questions, KK.
Thanks for your comment!
Amanda
Why is the weight listed at 12 pounds when it is clearly much heavier? I believe the old model is closer to 17 pounds according to several consumer reports so the new model is definitely more than as listed. In fairness to those buying on the internet and just in general, I think an attempt should be made to make the real weight clear to consumers.
I did end up buying the Si 2010 despite the difference in weight.
Tammy,
It’s true that sometimes the advertised weight of a stroller and its actual weight aren’t the same. Though I may include the advertised weight in the actual post, I’m always open about communicating any weight discrepancies I see when interacting with shoppers. Because I agree, it’s only fair.
Hope you’re happy with your Si. I’m here if you have any questions!
Amanda
i am on the market for a stroller. i tried the si when i went to babies r us and loved it! the problem is i don’t know if it can be used for newborns? on the target website, it says it’s for babies 6 months and older. any advice would be appreciated. can i also use the graco snug ride car seat with it?
Joanne,
Thanks so much for your interest in our products!
The Si does accept a car seat, so that is one way that you can get it to work with baby, but other than that we advise that you refrain from placing baby directly in the stroller seat until he/she has developed their neck muscles. Generally, we say this is around 6 months.
Your Snugride may be compatible with the Si. Here’s a video of how to operate the Si’s travel system straps. If the snugride seat has those seat belt notches, then chances are it will accommodate the Snugride. I’d head back to the store and see if I could try it out if I were you!

Hello, can you please email me back with information on PLIKO P3 MODULAR SYSTEM. I’m really interested in this item. I live in
Whittier CA. I’m having a really hard time finding where to purchase this item.
Alina,
I just sent you an email!
Amanda
Amanda,
Sad to learn that the Completo is not sold in the states, and getting one shipped overseas will impact Peg’s warranty. Is the boot sold as an accessory item in Europe and if so, can one acquire just the boot as an accessory item and add it to the US si; thereby keeping the warranty in play?
Thanks
TMK
Hi,
I just purchased the 2010 peg oerego si in Java. I had a question about the wheels. What are they made of? Some have had some problems with the sturdiness of the wheels after a couple months of use. Can replacement wheels be ordered and do the pliko p3 wheels fit in the Si? THanks
TMK,
I doubt that Peg Perego Italy will ship the boot overseas, but you’re more than welcome to call them and ask. They’re located in Milan, and their number is: (011) 39-039-6088213
In addition to this, I’m not sure if the boot is compatible with the US Si model, so that’s something you’d have to ask them.
Hope that helps,
Amanda
Keisa,
Thanks for your comment. The wheels on the Si are made primarily of plastic. Because of their design, they cannot be switched out for the wheels on the P3 (which are also made mostly of plastic). However, replacements are available through Customer Service.
My thoughts, though, are that if you use the stroller as it was intended (mostly paved areas like indoor/outdoor malls, etc) and adhere to any maintenance suggestions mentioned in the Si’s User Manual, you shouldn’t run into a problem with the wheels wearing down or becoming loose.
Hope that helps!
Amanda
Thanks for your response earlier. Another quick question. Does the 2010 model come with a carry handle. I noticed someone else said that there was no handle on their 2010 si also?
Keisa,
Yes, there’s a carrying handle on the 2010 Si!
(As for the customer who said there wasn’t a handle, I think something was either overlooked or there was a problem with the unit. I’m not sure, though, since I passed the complaint on to Customer Service).
Thanks!
Amanda
Hi I am due in September. Your strollers were highly recommended to me. I am looking for something lightweight and a weight limit more than 40lbs. Can you recommend the best one that fit those guidelines.
Thanks,
Pam
Pam,
So glad you’re considering our products!
May I ask what ‘lightweight’ is to you? In my experience, I’ve found that to one person, lightweight is under 20 lbs while to another it’s under 10.
Generally speaking, our lightweight strollers are the Si and the Vela.
However, some consider our Pliko P3 and our Pliko Switch also to be quite lightweight when considered with other strollers that have similar features. These two strollers hover around the 20 lb. mark, though.
All of our strollers have a weight capacity of 45 pounds, so that shouldn’t be an issue.
I hope I can be a big help to you, Pam. Just let me know a bit more about what you’re looking for!
Amanda
Hi Amanda,
Lightweight I was talking under 25! Thank you for the ideas. I was looking at the SI, Pliko P3 and the Aria OH. I thought some of your strollers went to 55lbs weight capacity?
I am looking for something easy to move, that folds small as I have an Altima with little trunk space and easy to close.
Thanks again
Pam,
No, we don’t have a 55-lb capacity stroller.
If your primary use is indoors (malls, stores, etc), I’d say the Si.
If you’ll be using it for day trips (zoo, city shopping, etc), the Si would also perform great, but the P3 may be a bit more comfortable for baby.
Both are under 25 pounds!
Here are the dimensions for both when folded so that you can determine whether it will fit in your trunk:
Si: 40″ x 11″ x 12″
P3: 40″ x 15.5″ x 15.5″
The Stroller Queen has a great review on the 2009 Si, and here’s a YouTube video of the same model. (The 2010 model adds a belly bar)
Also, here’s a YouTube video of the 2009 P3 (the 2010 model has a traditional 5-point harness).
Let me know if there’s more I may do!
Amanda
Hi Amanda
So I think I am going to go with the Peg Perego Pliko P3 Stroller. I am 5’7 and my husband is 6’3 are we going to bed hunched over pushing this? sorry if I am posting this under the wrong thing. Any other info on this stroller would be awesome! Thanks!!
Pam,
You guys should be ok with your height. If you have long strides, that could make a difference though. However, the P3 (and the Si too) has adjustable handles that will give you a bit more room. Because you’re interested in the P3, I strongly recommend trying to make it out to a store to see one in person. The P3 is our most popular stroller, and it’s the one that our retailers are most likely to have on hand. So, if you’d like, go ahead and check out our Where to Buy tool to locate retailers in your area. Then, call to see if they have a P3 in stock. That way, you can see it and try it out first hand!
But to answer your question, some of the P3′s favorite features are:
- Very large, extendable canopy
- Primo Viaggio car seat (sold separately) snaps into stroller seat
- Comes with snack tray for baby that is removable (the 2010 Si comes with a belly bar)
- Has a rear footboard to allow a second passenger to hop on for a ride
- Has a number of accessories you may purchase from Customer Service, including a Travel Bag, Mosquito Netting and Rain Cover.
You can learn all about it here.
If you have specific questions, be sure to ask!
Amanda
I have a 2009 Si but the basket is broken. It seems like the fabric is so stretchy that even putting in a light diaper bag causes the basket to stretch and drag on the floor therefore resulting in holes. Is there a new and improved basket that is available? How do I go about getting a replacement basket? I also misplaced my rain cover and will need to buy one. Where can I go about doing so? Thanks!!
I just tested out a 2010 Si in a store, and I nor the sales people could figure out how to detach the belly bar. The manual online says it should not be removed (just swivel it up and down) and does not provide instructions on how to do so. Can you briefly describe how it is done? I really like the bar but would like the option of removing it. Thanks!
Jackie,
So sorry about this! I’ve passed your comment along to Customer Service. You should be hearing from them shortly via email.
Let me know if there’s anything else I may do,
Amanda
Maria,
To remove the belly bar, you must push the buttons on the underneath portion of the bar on each side (where the bar connects to the stroller). Push and pull the bar out one position. Then, if you push the buttons again you can fully remove the bar.
Hope this makes sense! If not, you can always call Customer Service for a walk-through. 1-800-671-1701.
Thanks, and let me know if there’s more information I can provide.
Amanda
I have a 2010 Si in Nero which my daughter and I love. What is the model number?
Amanda, thank you so much for the instructions! I tried it out again at the store and it worked! My baby really liked holding onto the bar so I’m glad it’s there. I just purchased one in Java! Thank you for the great customer service and information on this blog!
Denise,
You should be able to find the model number on the sticker that’s on the back of the stroller. If you have difficulty, please contact Customer Service at 1-800-671-1701. They’ll be happy to help!
Amanda
Maria,
Thanks so much! Glad it all worked out.
Amanda
Hi Amanda
I’ve gotten a SI in Cedro fabric which I believe is a 09 color but it has a belly bar which is a 2010 design! I’m from Singapore. May I know if it is a 2009 or 2010 model in this case?
Thanks.
Sorry, also are the rear wheels supposed to be “one-step” brakes, as mine doesn’t seem to be so?
Jo,
The 2010 collection does have a light greenish color. It’s called Kiwi. Perhaps this would explain things? You can check it out here by hovering over the green/gray color combo.
I’m not sure what sort of brakes the Si comes with in Singapore, so it may be best if you called Peg Perego Italy (Customer Service) to find out: (011) 39-039-6088213
They’re out of Milan, Italy, so keep that in mind when calling!
Thanks!
Amanda
Hi Amanda
thanks for the reply. Hmm but at the product info behind the seat states ‘cedro’ and manufactured date is sep 09. What is your view? Am baffled. 09 version really can’t have belly bar fitted on? So it is both 09 and 10 model, lol.
Thanks
Hi,
I have a 2008 Pliko P3. I want to know if I can get a 2009 or 2010 replacement fabric for it? I know there is a different harness used in 2010, but is the frame the same from 2008? I really like the 09 and 10 fabrics better. Please advise if I can get one of them for my 08 model. Thanks!
Nicole
Nicole,
I believe you emailed me about this, so I’ve forwarded your email on to Customer Service. They will be in contact with you shortly regarding a new cover!
Thanks,
Amanda
Jo,
That is a bit strange … Because it has a bumper bar, that tells me that it’s a 2010 model, but I agree the mention of the Cedro fabric is odd. Not sure what the answer is to all this, but I’m sure Italy will be able to clear it up. They know all about the products we carry in different parts of the world, while I only know about US products. Their number is (011) 39-039-6088213
There is also a contact form you can fill out at http://www.pegperego.com. Simply go to the international site, or use the drop down menu to select Singapore.
Sorry for re-directing you, Jo, but this is really outside of my expertise!
Amanda
Hi Amanda
No worries and thanks much for your reply. Just want to find out since so many mummmies are keen to have a bumper bar for their 09 models.
Mine for sure is Cedro and not Kiwi (2010) fabric.
Thanks!
Hi Amanda,
Yes, I also emailed you. I haven’t heard from customer service yet and I tried to call twice today but had no luck – once they said it was too busy and the other time I was 16th in line. It’s hard to reach them since I’m on the West Coast and they close at 1:15 p.m. my time. Do you know the answer to my question?
Thanks,
Nicole
Nicole,
Yes, that would be tricky to time the call right!
The 2009 fabric should work with your Pliko, but since we changed the harness for the 2010 model, I don’t think the newer fabric is compatible.
The fabric may be purchased through Customer Service. If they haven’t emailed you yet, you may reach them at peregoservice@perego.com.
Hope this helps!
Let me know if there’s more I may do,
Amanda
Hi Amanda
1 more thing need your advise. Some of the online stores mentioned the raincover for SI is the same as P3. Is that true? As I understand P3 uses zip for the raincover but there isn’t any zip on the canopy on SI.
Please help.
Thanks.
cheers
Jo
Jo,
The 2010 Si has an elastic rain cover — the same rain cover that is used for the 2010 P3.
The 2009 Si had a zip rain cover.
If you’d like to order it directly from Customer Service, they may be contacted at peregoservice@perego.com
Or, the online stores are also a great option.
Amanda
Hi! I am super excited to purchase the new 2010 si! I had been drooling over the 2009 model but was concerned about all of the reviews stating that the basket drags the ground. I saw in an earlier post where you said the basket has not been redesigned for the 2010. The pictures look like the basket on the 2009 was a net-like fabric. The 2010 looks as if it is made of a different fabric. There is a review on Amazon.com where someone has reviewed the 2010 model and is stating the fabric does not drag. The pictures look like the fabric on the new 2010 model is not made of stretchy net-like fabric. The reviewer also mentions there are bag hooks on the handles. This is a nice feature and I was wondering hy you all do not mention this fact. I am still going to purchase the 2010 Si in Pepper but was just wondering about the basket issue. Thanks!
BTW – I LOVE the blog!
Veronika,
Thanks for your interest in the Si!
I’ve also seen reviews about the basket dragging, and to be honest I’m not quite sure what to think! The majority of our customers don’t have a problem with the basket, but some apparently do. My thought is that maybe these users are expecting the basket to hold too much? We do have a tested weight limit that we include in the manual. My advice would be to follow this as best as possible, and you shouldn’t have a problem!
Anyway, from what I’ve heard from Italy, the basket has not been redesigned. It may look different, but I think that’s from a switch in the colors they used.
The diaper bag hooks are a feature we have on a few of our strollers (the P3, Switch and Si). They were highlighted in a series of videos we put together for the 2009 collection, but otherwise I guess you’re right … they haven’t gotten much press. Maybe I’ll do a blog post about little-known facts about Peg Perego products …
So glad you like our blog, Veronika! If you have any more questions, please don’t hesitate to leave a comment.
Amanda
Love this blog, thanks Amanda! I am interested in purchasing a Peg Perego Si 2010 model, but had two questions:
1) I am wondering if the seat fabric is different on the 2010 version – I saw the 2009 version and it seemed like a shinier ballistic nylon (in the orange color). But the 2010 version (in Java) seems to be more a matte fabric… can you explain the difference in fabrics?
2) We expect to be traveling a lot through airports… do you know if most airlines will allow us to bring the stroller to the gate for gate check-in? Or do most airlines require that you check in the Si as one of your checked baggage?
Thanks so much!
Kristine,
So glad you like the blog!
1) The fabric on the Java feels and looks different because it is a slightly different weave than the typical fabric. However, it’s still made of the same blend of cotton and polyester.
2) I think this one depends on the airline. Most will let you gate check the Si (you can purchase an inexpensive gate check bag from JL Childress, if interested), but some may have different rules. It’s probably good to check with the airline beforehand so you can know what to expect.
Let me know if I may be of further assistance!
amanda
Can you remove the seat cover on the Si to wash? I can’t seem to figure it out. I have a 2009 Si. Thanks.
Jacqui,
If you look in your Instruction Manual, there are direction on removing the seat cover. If you have any trouble with this, you can call Customer Service for help. They’re very good at assisting in these sort of processes over the phone. They may be reached at 1-800-671-1701.
Please keep in mind that the fabric is to be hand washed and line-dried.
amanda
Hi Amanda!
Quick question – I just received my Peg Perego Si (2010 model with the bumper bad) and noticed that the car seat adapter straps are still the ones that fit around the belt straps on the car seat… I thought the 2010 model came with straps that wrap around the carrying handle of the car seat? Is there somewhere where I can get replacement straps (the newer ones)?
Thanks!
As I know, Si stroller in 2009 included a rain cover as default accessories.
Is it the same to the 2010 model? I can’t find any information if a rain cover is included in the model.
KC,
Italy decided to change the straps back to the original adapter straps some time after I had said that they would be NEW straps that wrapped around the car seat handle. So, the straps you received are the correct straps that we’re offering with the stroller … they’re just not the ones I had initially thought we were going to offer.
If this causes an issue for you, please let me know. I don’t believe we have the wrap-around straps here in the US, but I could talk with the folks in Customer Service and see about a possible solution.
I’m really sorry that the information I provided ended up being incorrect, KC. Hopefully, we can work to fix this if this ends up causing an issue for your SI’s car seat compatibility.
amanda
HJ,
Thanks for your interest in the SI!
Yes, the 2009 model included a rain cover. However, the 2010 model does not. If you’re interested in a rain cover, we do have one for the Si that is available for purchase through our Customer Service department. They may be reached via email or by phone at 1-800-671-1701.
Hope that helps!

Hello Amanda,
I’m loving the Peg Perego Si 2010, however my husband found that the 2 rear tires are unaligned. The tires arent straight and he says it will wear down the tires because they are angled towards the inside of the prego (Toe-in). You can hear the tires rubbing agains the ground as you are pushing the prego. He is worried the tires well wear down over time because of this.
Should I exchange the perego or is this how the tires are designed?
thank you so much!
Maria
Maria,
I sent your comment on to Customer Service … they should contact you shortly. I’ll let them decide what is best in this instance! If you don’t hear from them within a day or so, let me know!
amanda
Hi Amanda, Still havent heard from customer service
Maria,
I’m so sorry about this. I resent your question to them, but just in case, here’s their email address. Their phone number is 1-800-671-1701. It sounds to me as though the wheels on your Si aren’t quite right. My guess is that Customer Service will probably ask you to send you Si in so that we can take a look at it. That is unless they have a quick fix they can guide you through over the phone.
amanda
Maria,
Apparently Customer Service responded last Wednesday. They’re going to resend their email, but if you don’t receive it, please email Carolina. Another thought is to check your junk mail …?
Thanks,
Amanda
Hi Amanda,
So the weight limit of the Si Travel system for the US collection is different from the Canadian collection? Would you by any chance know the weight limit of the Canadian collection, or can you refer me to the right contact?
Thanks,
Anna
Anna,
I’m not sure, but yes, I believe the weight capacity is different in Canada. You can call Peg Perego Canada to find out for sure: 1-800-661-5050.
Thanks!
Amanda
Amanda,
yeah they sent the email on the 16th, i dont know how I missed it.
thanks again
Maria
Amanda,
I am a military spouse living overseas and we recently purchased the Si Completo (2009) this past Sunday, August 21. After getting home I read reviews (of the American model) that after a few months use the front wheels jiggle/wobble/shake. I used this stroller ONE day and it is already doing this. I’m debating taking it back to the store unless you know of any other solution? Appreciate your assistance.
Paola
Paola,
I’ve forwarded your comment to Customer Service. They should be in touch with you shortly.
In this situation, the best thing is to work with Customer Service. There may be an easy solution to the Si’s problem … Customer Service will help you with this and ensure the issue gets resolved.
Thanks!
Amanda
Hi there – we purchased our Si stroller this summer and have begun to use it in the last couple of weeks and have found that our front wheels wobble for a period of about 10 seconds, every minute or so. This only occurs when the wheels are in the mode where they may turn, when they are locked into a forward and back position, they do not shake. Can you please tell me if there is a solution to this problem? I purchased my stroller online and do not have a store to return it to.
Thank you for your time and attention.
Cayley King
Cayley King,
Hmmm … not sure on this one. Would you please call Customer Service about this problem? Their number is 1-800-671-1701, and their email is here.
Thanks,
Amanda
Hi!
We’ve just bought a Peg Perego Si stroller and it feels great. It is lightweight and very easy to maneuver with on the street. Though, we thought 12 lbs is the overall weight of the stroller it is still much lighter than Peg Perego P3 Modular On Track with the seat configuration. It has larger wheels than our other option — McLaren Quest, as well as a larger canopy, and, hopefully, the basket. Great product!
You’d previously posted a link to 2009 Si Fact Sheet — http://69.67.202.187/images/stories/PP_SiFactSheet09.pdf — but it is now broken. Can you post a link to Peg Perego Si fact sheet for collection 2010, please?
Thank you!
P.S.
Only Peg Perego’s US site lists dimensions and weights of the strollers! It’d be nice other local version of the site would incorporate this information as well.
Matanel,
We got rid of the fact sheet when we updated our website to 2010 products. Is there a question I can help you with?
Let me know!
amanda
Thank you for your quick reply, Amanda.
I just wanted to have a clean, nicely designed brochure with all the dimensions and weights of Peg Perego strollers/car seats/etc.. Sometimes it is difficult to decide on a Peg Perego product — they all are so good! — without seeing all the dimensions and weights in one place.
Thank you!
Hi, we’ve had our 2009 Peg Perego Si for just under a year, and the basket underneath it has stretched out. Our experience is just like what another person wrote earlier in this blog – it’s stretched to the point that it drags with anything in the basket, and now we’ve got holes in the bottom (making it quite useless). How do we go about getting a replacement basket?
Thanks,
Fred
Manatel,
We do have some catalogs available to ship to shoppers. Contact Customer Service at 1-800-671-1701 and ask them for a 2009 catalog. They also will have a 2010 catalog available if you’d like that one too.
amanda
Fred,
Please contact Customer Service about getting a new basket. You can do it through email or call them at 1-800-671-1701.
Thanks!
amanda
I purchased a peg perego si stroller early this spring. It hasn’t even lasted me through the summer. It has very poor construction. The wheel hub cap came off during the first few weeks of use. The bolt where the umbrella connects to the stroller has broken causing the hood to hang. The wheels wobble horribly every time I take it anywhere, and last week the stand that holds the baby’s feet up broke on one side while my 1 year old was climbing out of it. I expected a much higher quality stroller for the price, and I have been very disappointed. If I would have known this stroller would only last 6 months, I would have never purchased it.
Tasia,
I am very sorry for your experience with the Si. I’ve forwarded your comment to Customer Service. You should hear from them either today or tomorrow at the email address you provided.
amanda
I have a big bulky travel system stroller that does not maneuver well and does not seem to be sturdy enough to last much longer. So i am trying to decide between a si and a p3. The store that i would buy them at has the p3 on sale for the same price. The salesperson highly suggested the si for me. I am really liking the sturdier wheels on the si. But I am worried that the stroller won’t be sturdy enough for an everyday stroller, since it is consistently recommented as a ‘travel’ stroller. Can it be used as one, or would a p3 hold up better for everyday use? Does the p3 drive as smoothly as the si?
It seems to me, that peg perego would make the super stroller if they put the wheels from the si on the p3.
Thanks so much, and sorry if my questions are ramble-ly.
Julie,
Thanks for your comment!
The P3 actually has better wheels, because it has eight of them as opposed to four (two wheels per wheel unit). This makes it a smoother ride and a bit more ready for longer day trips.
We often recommend the Si as a trunk stroller — one you keep stored in your car and pull out for errands or quick trips. It does great in malls and can handle some outdoor walks, too. But if you’re going to spend a lot of time out and about, going to zoos, parks and such, the P3 would be a better option. It’s just more heavy duty than the Si (without being bulky or difficult to maneuver and manage).
Another great thing about the P3, is that the Primo Viaggio car seat attaches directly to the stroller. With the Si, you have to use adapter straps (this may actually be better for you, however, if you have a different car seat than the Primo Viaggio).
If you’d like to see some videos of both, here’s the Si and here’s the P3. They’re the 2009 models, so they’re slightly different, but the gist is there.
Let me know if you have more questions!
amanda
I am interested in Si 2010 model. Does this model compatible with my baby trend flex-loc car seat?
Does rain cover included? If not, where can I buy it? and how much is it?
Thanks.
Hui-Ting
Hui-Ting,
Thanks for your interest in the Si!
I’m not sure whether the Si would be compatible with the Baby Trend car seat. The 2010 Si uses adapter straps to affix car seats. So, the question would be whether the Baby Trend car seat would work with the straps. Here’s a video of how the straps work (go to the 1:40 mark). It would be best if you could visit a store that has the Si in stock and try it out with the Baby Trend seat.
The 2010 Si does not come with a rain shield, however you may purchase one separately from Customer Service (or your retailer). It is around $35.
Hope that helps!
Amanda
Hi Amanda,
Thanks for your reply. I live in Seattle USA (zip code is 98008). Can you help me to find a retail store that carry your 2010 Si?
Thanks.
Hui-Ting
hi!
question, what’s the difference between a Sì Classico and Sì Completo? i’m confused.
Hui-Ting,
Sure! If you go to our Store Locator and select Washington as your state, type in your zip code and then do the search, you will see around 5 options. Then, call these retailers to see if they have the Si in stock.
Amanda
zaza,
The Si Completo is a model that is not available in the US. It comes with a few more accessories (such as a foot muff). Here in the US, we offer the Si Classico. It comes with the stroller, car seat adapter straps, and an Adult Cup Holder. Accessories such as the rain shield and Pliko P3 Travel Bag may be purchased separately. (We do not offer the foot muff accessory in the US).
Amanda
Hi Amanda,
I just purchased a 2010 Si. I am very excited about it, but I am having trouble with the one-handed open fold. When I open it, the front bars do not lock into place (the bars right above each of the front wheels). I have to manually insert them. Do you have any advice? Is this a defect? I don’t want to return it. Thanks in advance.
Susie,
No, it doesn’t sound like anything is wrong with your Si. It just sounds as though it’s a bit stiff because it’s new. This is pretty common.
As you use the stroller, it will loosen up and become easier to fold and unfold. Until then, you’ll just have to manually lock those side bars.
Let me know if you have additional questions!
Amanda
I was wondering if I can purchase a replacement fabric seat for my 2010 Si. I haven’t had any luck finding the answer online. I spilled coffee on my kiwi fabric and I am so disappointed that it left a stain.
Thanks
Amaryllis,
So sorry to hear this!
I sent your message on to Customer Service. You can expect to hear from them sometime tomorrow (if not tonight).
Thanks!
Amanda
Hello Amanda,
Need your help with Si. Is it true that Si 2010 has a Freedom of Movement Harness while Si 2011 edition is now a traditional 5 point harness?
I like the Black Step color that was available in Si 2010 but don’t seem to see this color selection anymore for the Si 2011 edition. Can I still get Black Step for 2011 edition?
Can you also describe the differences (if any) for Si Edition between 2010 and 2011.
Also the Vela edition between 2010 and 2011. One obvious difference is 2010 Vela has 3 wheels and 2011 has 4 wheels.
I am cosidering either one of these 2. Any info would be most helpful. Thanks in advance.
Cheers
Nancy
Nancy,
Thanks for sharing your questions!
Neither the 2010 nor 2011 Si’s have the Freedom of Movement harness, but the 2009 model does have it.
The Black Step color was only available for 2010. It was discontinued when we rolled out our new 2011 fabric collection. If you are interested in the Black Step fabric, you will have to purchase a 2010 Black Step Si stroller.
No difference between the 2010 and 2011 models aside from fabrics and the addition of a small loop that allows you to dangle a lightweight toy from the 2011 Si’s canopy.
The 2011 Vela Easy Drive has four wheels as opposed to three. This is the only update aside from the toy loop and fabric changes.
Most families choose the Si because they like the way it folds. Others choose the Vela because its back wheels are slightly bigger and it has a single handlebar which gives it a great push. It also can accept the Primo Viaggio car seat right into its stroller seat.
The best thing to do would be to try and see these products in a store. Our Store Locator tool can help you find a retailer in your area: http://us.pegperego.com/babyproducts-site/where-to-buy-service-centers/
Let me know if you have additional questions!
Amanda
Amanda,
Please help! I just bought the SI and while I love it I have a major problem with the 2 front wheels. If I try to walk any faster than a snail the wheels vibrate really hard. What is wrong? How should I fix this? I really appreciate your help.

My Husband and I are having our fourth child in three weeks and I couldn’t be more nervous, I’ve done this three times prior to and I do not comprehend why I’m so nervous this time around, so doing online research for baby and pregnancy related topics assist to ease my nerves. I can’t tell you just how much it has helped me to calm down by reading the articles on your site, so thank you very much.
Are there any changes in the Si stroller for the 2011 model or is it just the color?
sarah,
No changes to the Si for 2011, except for the addition of a small loop on the canopy that allows you to dangle a light toy. And the fabrics, of course
Amanda
Amanda,
When you say the fabrics are different? What do you mean by that? You mean the quality is better in the 2011 model than 2010 right? I see a difference of $50. Is it worth it?
I mean did people have problem with the 2010 version ?
Thx,
KK
KK,
Thanks for your comment. The 2011 fabrics are the same as the 2010 fabrics, aside from color. This is what I meant when I said they were different. Sorry if I was unclear.
The price difference you’re seeing is simply because the 2011 model is newer.
Let me know if you have any more questions!

I proudly own the Uno 2010 and Tatamia and love them both! I need a lightweight stroller for the occasional trip on the subway or the beach. I am against buying China made products for my daughter but are leaning towards the Aprica Presto or Cadence due to the 70lb weight limit, the stroller weight of only 13.7 & 14.8lbs and a more sturdy storage basket. My 1 year old daughter is 28 lbs and the 45lb limit on the Peg Perego troubles me. I do love that Peg Perego and Aprica wheels do not touch the hood when closed as all of the higher end strollers do. I am still on the fence with the Si and the Mini and will keep researching before my decision is made. Any information that can sway my decision is greatly appreciated.
Hi Cynthia!
Thanks for your interest in the Pliko Mini and the Si. Both are really great lightweight options. The Pliko Mini comes in at just 13 pounds; the Si comes in at just 15.8. While they are incredibly light weight, both offer many of the same great features you’ve probably grown to love on your Uno. To show you all the features on each one, I’m pasting product videos for both the Pliko Mini and the Si below. I know you were concerned about capacity too. Both strollers do have a 45-pound weight limit, but I wouldn’t let that sway your decision. Most children don’t reach 45 pounds until they are 5 or 6, so your daughter still has many years to enjoy the Mini or the Si. Please let us know if you have any more questions. We’re here to help!

Pliko Mini (2011)
Si (2010)
Hi, I was wondering whether Si Classico 2009 or 2010 can be used from newborn ? Read on one site that the 2010 suitable only from 6 months. And what’s the major difference of both ? Thanks Amanda.
Hi Harris!
Thanks for your question about the Peg Perego Si. While the Si has a fairly deep recline, it does not have a full recline, and therefore, on its own, the Si is not newborn-ready. Your baby really needs to have the head and neck muscles it needs to supports its own head (usually around 5-6 months) before using the stroller seat alone. However, you can make the Si newborn-ready by using it as a travel system by adding an infant car seat, like our Primo Viaggio SIP 30/30. In fact, the Si is one of the few lightweight umbrella fold-type strollers on the market that takes a car seat! The biggest difference you’ll find between the 2009 and 2010 Si is the addition of the bumper bar in 2010. Like all of our bumper bars, it’s both hinged for easy access to baby and completely removable for when baby gets older and desires to climb in and out of the stroller on her own. Hope that helps! If you really want a stroller that is newborn-ready on its own, we have several. Just let me know and I can make a few suggestions.

Hi, can I know whether the front bar for SI in 2009 model is detachable?
Thanks.
Hi Penny:
The 2009 Si did not have a bumper bar. That is a feature we added in 2010 (and continued in 2011). On the 2010 and 2011 models, the bumper bar is hinged and removable. Let me know if you have any more questions. Thanks!

I think that the Peg Perego Si is for indoor. I wouldt like to know what indoor means. It means that is not good for using it on the street? or it means that is not good for grass and that kind of places?
Thanks
Hi Flavia,
Thanks for your question. The Sì can absolutely be used both indoors and outdoors.
It’s so lightweight, we often recommend it as a good errand-running stroller, since it’s so easy to throw it in your car and go, but it’s also great for long walks, family outings to theme parks, the zoo, etc. In fact, popular mommy blogger, the Crunchy Beach Mama, recently raved on her site about taking the Sì with her to Disney World. That said, the Sì is not an all-terrain stroller, and while it would work in the grass or dirt in a pinch, it wouldn’t be recommended for long walks on very rough terrain. I hope this helps! Please let me know if you have more questions.
Thanks!

Hi there,
I start to search for a stroller and a car seat for my baby. My preferred stroller is Peg Perego P3 (2010 model)and Peg Perego 2010 Si Lightweight Stroller. However, I don’t know does it match the Graco Sungride 35 car seat?Could you t give me some suggestions?
Which Graco car seat model could match Peg Perego P3 and Peg Perego 2010 Si Lightweight Stroller? And than what different between Peg Perego P3 and Peg Perego 2010 Si Lightweight Stroller? Is there any online demo to show how to put another brand car seat onto Peg Perego?Your helps will be really appreciated.
Hi Iris,
Thanks so much for your questions. We only test our strollers to be compatible with our own Primo Viaggio SIP 30-30 infant car seat. That’s not to say your car seat won’t work; I just can’t tell you for sure. Sorry about that. You may want to contact your car seat manufacturer. They will sometimes have this information. Another option is to visit one of our Authorized Retailers and test out your car seat with one of our strollers in-store. That said, you might have better luck with the Si , just because on the Si the car seat attaches with two included adapter straps.
The Pliko P3 Compact and Si are both great everyday strollers. If you’re trying to compare them, I’d say the P3 has a few more features (child’s snack tray, rear foot board for an older child), but the Si is a little more lightweight (15.8 lbs. vs. 18.7 lbs.)
I hope all this helps. Please let us know if you have any more questions.
Thanks!

Hello,
I’m wondering what’s the difference between 2009 Pliko Si and 2010 Pliko Si?
Please help…
Thanks,
Hi Hilda,
We did update the Sì in 2010 with a new removable, hinged bumper bar. Made of plastic, covered in felt, the bumper bar protects baby but is still flexible enough to allow you to fold the stroller while it’s still attached. Adding the bar also ensured greater ease of use for the stroller’s travel system capabilities, as it holds the Primo Viaggio SIP 30/30 car seat in place while mom or dad affixes the included straps.
Hope this helps. Let us know if you need any more help.

Hello,
I have a peg perego si 2009 and was wondering if I can use a Chicco key fit 30 car seat. Also, I don’t have the adapter straps anymore, where can I buy them?
Paola (from Texas, USA)
Hi Paola,
Since the Si uses adapter straps, it allows the stroller to become compatible with the Chicco Keyfit 30. You can purchase new straps through our customer service (service@pegperego.com or 1-800-671-1701).
Thank you!
Erica
I came across an European website that had pictures of the peg perego si 2013 collection wich included the oceano , denim and a mocha color.. Will these strollers be available in the US? If so, when? I was about to buy a peg perego si in Nero.. But, if the 2013 model in oceano is going to be available here, i may just wait.. It is simply adorable.. All three new colors are.. Help!
Hello,
Unfortunately those colors on the Si will not be available in the US for 2013.
Thank you for your question and let me know if I can be of more help.
