A Closer Look: Prima Pappa Zero 3

We’re expecting! The newest addition to the Peg Perego family, the Prima Pappa Zero 3 high chair, is expected to arrive stateside (direct from Italy!) later this week, and we couldn’t be more excited.

The Prima Pappa Zero 3 is one of the only high chairs on the market (in addition to our very own Tatamia and Siesta) that can be used from birth. With a full recline, it serves as a comfortable recliner for newborn and then easily transforms into a traditional high chair.

And the Prima Pappa Zero 3 continues to grow with your child. With seven different height adjustments and a tray that completely removes, you can pull the Prima Pappa Zero 3 right up to the kitchen table. With its four non-scratching rubber wheels and super-compact fold, it’s very easy to maneuver and surprisingly compact.

The Prima Pappa Zero 3 is available in four colorways: sophisticated Savanna Cacao and Savanna Beige and the more whimsical Giraffa Glicine and Giraffa Verde, which both feature a super-fun giraffe illustration.

Pronti per la pappa? (Ready to eat?) The Prima Pappa Zero 3 will be available in select stores soon. To find a Peg Perego retailer near you, use our online Store Locator.

Gear for Grandparents

There’s probably no one more excited about your baby’s arrival than your own parents, the soon-to-be grandparents. And if baby will be visiting a lot, it might make sense for grandma and grandpa to get a little baby gear of their own. In honor of Grandparents Day, here are our top picks for new grandparents:

An easy-to-store high chair. Our quick-folding high chair, the Prima Pappa Diner, is perfect for grandma’s house. It boasts easy-to-clean vinyl upholstery, our much-loved dishwasher-safe double tray, and non-scratching rubber wheels that make it easy to move and store away. And like all of our high chairs, it comes fully assembled and ready to use. The Prima Pappa Diner also offers a tilt-in-space seat (suitable for even newborns), which is a nice feature when you want to keep baby close during family dinners.

A lightweight stroller. Peg Perego has a number of lightweight strollers, but our favorites for grandparents are our full-featured Vela Easy Drive and Si. Both are incredibly lightweight (just 15.8 pounds each), travel system compatible, and easy to fold and transport. The Vela Easy Drive features a single, one-hand push handlebar, while the Si features two adjustable handles.

A safe, up-to-date car seat. Safety experts strongly warn against used car seats. “Don’t even think about using the old car seat in the attic or the one you just saw at a yard sale,” Luanne Whitmire, a program coordinator at the Greenville (S.C.) Hospital System Children’s Hospital, tells future grandparents on Grandparents.com. “Car seats expire,” she says. “That’s something even new parents don’t know until they’re told.” Peg Perego’s celebrated Primo Viaggio SIP 30-30, designed for infants from 5 to 30 pounds (or up to 30 inches), is a great option for grandparents. It features a quick-release five-point safety harness with shoulder pads and a fail-safe buckle. It can attach to any of our strollers, making it ideal for on-the-go grandparents.

Another option that is coming this fall is the Primo Viaggio SIP 5-70 Convertible. Since it stays in the car, it will be great for option for grandparents who don’t want to have to carry an infant seat around. And since the Convertible converts from a rear-facing (for children 5 to 35 lbs.) to a forward-facing (for children 22 to 70 pounds) seat, it will last from infancy through the toddler years.

Buying for Baby: Gift Registry Essentials

In our more than 60 years of designing and manufacturing high-quality products for babies and children, we at Peg Perego have gained some understanding about what it takes to prepare for a new baby.

It’s a joyful and beautiful time, but there is also so much to do!

To help, we’ve created a short checklist for all the gear you’ll need—and want—for your new baby.

Infant Car Seat: The most important consideration here is safety. Make sure to get a new car seat that complies with National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) standards. Peg Perego’s celebrated Primo Viaggio SIP 30/30 has been specially created to keep baby safe from the very start. Designed for infants from 5 to 30 pounds (or up to 30 inches), the Primo Viaggio SIP 30/30 features a quick-release five-point safety harness with shoulder pads and a fail-safe buckle; adjustable Side Impact Protection (SIP); and a special removable cushion for newborns.

Stroller: When selecting a stroller for a newborn, there are some special considerations. First, you need a stroller that either has a full recline or offers the option to attach a car seat and/or bassinet. Several of our strollers have a full recline, and nearly all of them will take a car seat. A modular system (like our Skate System or our Pliko Switch Compact Modular System) are also great options, especially if you’re looking to get everything you need for a new baby in one convenient purchase.

High Chair: If you want to keep your baby nearby during meals, considering getting a high chair with a seat that reclines for very young infants. All of our high chairs have a tilt-in-space seat that’s perfect for young babies, even newborns. Other important features are a secure and comfortable restraint system (a five-point harness with a passive restraint is best); a wide, sturdy base; adjustable height; and a one-hand tray release. And if you’re looking for a multipurpose high chair, consider our Tatamia. Recently included in Fit Pregnancy’ s list of Registry Essentials, the Tatamia transforms from a baby recliner to a baby swing to a high chair, meeting your child’s needs at every stage, from newborn to toddler.

Staying Fashionable in the New Year

It’s the time of resolutions! Get fit. Lose weight. Organize the office. Read more. Volunteer more.

We’ve heard (and committed to) these resolutions year after year, but there’s one resolution that is often overlooked—the resolution to stay fashionable and confident.

There’s no denying it. Decades are often defined by fashion (what would the 90’s be without Jennifer Anniston’s haircut?!), yet for so many parents, it’s the first thing they lose touch of after having starting their family.

That’s why Peg Perego takes extra care to ensure our fabrics and designs reflect the most current trends in fashion. Because we believe that baby products should be just as stylish as the parents (and babies!) who use them.

You can see this in our upcoming Gala fabric, an urban-chic plaid over a black background, or our re-designed Skate System, a minimalist look with a materialist feel.

Here’s our entire 2010 Collection by product. If you click on a product and then click on it again when you are redirected to a new page, it’ll open up for a larger view.

Perhaps you’ll be inspired to stay fashionable this year!

2010 Fabric Collection: Girly Girls

Do you have a girly girl in your life? Maybe one on the way?

Peg Perego prides itself on using only the most fashion-forward colors and designs on our upholstery. Since our designers work out of Milan, they’re able to easily study the coming year’s hottest trends, creating fabric collections that capture the most impactful styles and crazes. Consequently, our collections have historically been gender-neutral, adhering to colors of fashion as opposed to colors of gender.

But with purple solidified as an “it” color for the second year in a row, we knew it was time to welcome something a bit more feminine—a bit more geared to the girliest of girls.

For the 2010 collection, we have two feminine fabrics that are sure to please, not only for their delicate, girly appeal, but for their top status in the coming year’s trends. Lavanda was selected and designed for its refreshing nod to the currently vogue purple, while Naif Rose was selected not only for how well it accentuated the fashion-forward Naif design, but to meet the growing demand for a pink upholstery.

While these fabrics may appeal to girly girls, they certainly have their place in the fashion world.

Lavanda. A soft lavender is accented by a cool gray for a combination that is both chic and feminine. Purple is entering its second year as a top color, and our Lavanda upholstery reflects that prominence. Lavanda can be found on the 2010 Primo Viaggio SIP 30/30 car seat (below) and the 2010 Pliko P3 stroller (below).

p3-pviaggio-lavanda300px

Naif Rose. A vibrant pink joins the popular and modern Naif design for a look that is both girly and hip. Pink fabrics are in high demand at Peg Perego; the last time we offered a pink fabric was in 2007. Naif Rose can be found on the 2010 Prima Pappa Diner high chair (below).
