Reporting from the ABC Kids Expo!
It’s an exciting time for all of us at Peg Perego USA. We’re at the big ABC Kids Expo in Louisville, Kentucky, and we’re unveiling our 2012 collection. While there is a lot to tell you about, like new colors (we’re swooning for trendy denim and classic navy this year) and several big product updates (yes, it’s true, our most popular P3 and Switch strollers are being streamlined with a new four-wheel design), we thought we’d start with the really good stuff … the brand new products for 2012!
New for 2012, we’d like to first introduce you to the Siesta! This multi-function, ultra-light compact high chair follows your child from birth to the toddler years. The Siesta can first be used as a comfortable recliner, then as a high chair for eating or playing, and then, with its removable tray, as a seat your child can use right at the table. You’ll love its sophisticated design and four beautiful color options.
Another new product addition we’re thrilled to tell you about is our brand new booster seat, the Viaggio HBB 120. Designed for children 40 to 120 pounds, this seat (the third in our Viaggio series; our Primo Viaggio SIP 5-70 Convertible is due out this fall) offers all the celebrated safety and design of our beloved Primo Viaggio SIP 30-30 infant car seat in a booster. The Viaggio HBB 120 provides total Side Impact Protection (SIP). It features wide padded wings at the head and shoulder level and a head panel that adjusts easily in six vertical positions, Expanded PolyStyrene (EPS) side foam in the head panel, and a wide padded seat in our breathable Crystal fabric.
We’re working on one more new product for 2012, a new stroller called the Book. It won’t be available until late 2012, but we thought we’d go ahead and give you a sneak peek. The Book will feature a sleek and innovative design and a very special compact book fold. It also will have an easy-to-push single handlebar and wheels with 12 ball bearings and suspension that will allow for 360-degree agility.
In the coming weeks on “Ciao, Mondo!” we’ll be detailing each new product, feature by feature, as well as sharing news on product updates, carryovers, and the highly anticipated 2012 fabric collection. So keep checking back. It’s going to be an amazing year with Peg Perego!

I have to say, I wish more of your strollers had air filled tires.
Hi, I was just wondering when the fabric collection will be released for 2012. I am specifically interested in the infant carseat and the Skate. Also, do you know when they’ll be available online and in stores? Thanks, super excited!
Hi Sarah,
Here in the U.S., most of our 2012 collection (excluding the Book stroller) will start arriving in stores in January. For 2012, we’ll be offering the Primo Viaggio SIP 30/30 in 13 colors – Paloma (Prima Classe cream), Cacao (Prima Classe chocolate brown), Nero (black), Java (deep brown/silver), Pois Black (black/black dots), Pois Grey (light grey/charcoal grey dots), Geranium (dark red/true red), Zaffiro (Saphire blue), Boheme (classic navy/red sheen small squares), Newmoon (taupe/black), Demin (chambray), Regata (indigo bluie/silver gray), and Southpole (black/silver gray). The 2012 Skate System will be offered in Java (deep brown/silver), Pois Black (black/black dots), Pois Grey (light grey/chacroal grey dots), Geramium (dark red/true red), and Denim (chambray). In the next few weeks, we’ll be doing a post on all the new colors, so stay tuned.

Hi Andrea,
Thanks for the comment. We’ve actually found a lot of parents love the our foam-filled rubber wheels since they require no maintenance.

Hi Emily,
Just wondering what colours the new Pliko 4 will come in? Also, does this come in a modular system as well as switch? If not, what colours will the pliko switch modular system come in?
Thanks for your help!
Hi KK,
Thanks so much for you interest in our 2012 Collection. For 2012, we are offering the Switch Four Modular System. It will come in Zaffiro (sapphire blue), Geranium (dark red/true red), and Pois Grey (light grey/charcoal grey dots). We will not be offering the Pliko Four in such a system. But it will be sold individually and come in these colors: Geranium (dark red/true red), Pois Grey (light grey/charcoal grey dots), Boheme (classic navy/red sheen small squares), Newmoon (taupe/black), Denim (chambray), Regata (indigo blue/silver grey), and Southpole (black/silver grey.).

HI! I was wondering if there will be any updates to the Si stroller for 2012? Colors or features?
Hi CM,
Thanks for your interest in the Si. It’s such a great compact, easy-folding stroller. There will be no major changes to the Si for 2012. And in 2012, it will be available in Nero (black), Java (deep brown/silver), and Geranium (dark red/true red). Let me know if you have any more questions.

Was the snack tray eliminated from the P4? The thing that made it different from other similar umbrella fold strollers WAS the snack tray.
Hi Marietta,
The snack tray was not eliminated entirely on the Pliko Four. While the 2012 Pliko Four will come standard with a bumper bar, the snack tray will be available as a sold-separately purchase. The reason for the change was that our designers just really loved the sleek look of the bumper bar, but as a mom myself, I can totally understand why you (and many moms) would still want a snack tray option as baby grows and becomes a snack-loving toddler. One fun accessory that the Pliko Four does come with is a coordinating leg cover, which the 2011 Pliko P3 Compact does not have.

Hi thank you for reporting.
I am expecting my first baby in February, my local store told me that geranium will not be available on the 2012 modular system and that the new stroller. has three wheels. Is this accurate? Would you mind posting again the colors for 2012 for the modular system, I saw online that it would be available in apricot (my favorite color)
Thank You
Hi Monica,
Are you in the U.S.? Here in the U.S., none of our strollers for 2012 will have three wheels. As far as fabric color options, here in the U.S., the Switch Four Modular System will be available in Zaffiro (sapphire blue), Pois Grey (light grey/charcoal grey dots), and Geranium (dark red/true red). Let me know what other questions you have.

When can we expect the Viaggio HBB 120 to be available? It is so exciting out bigger kids can finally have a Peg cars eat now too!
Magda
Hi Magda,
Thanks for you interest in the Viaggio HBB 120. It should start arriving in stores this January.

Hi Emily,
I am due in December, and want to know if I should wait for the pliko switch 2012, or just get the 2011. What are the differences, also will i be able to buy the Navetta XL in the USA by itself?
Thank you
Hi Dana,
Congratulations on your pregnancy! If you want to be sure you have the stroller when baby comes, I would go with the 2011. Our 2012 Collection will just start arriving in stores in January. The biggest difference between the 2011 Pliko Switch Compact and the 2012 Pliko Four is that the 2012 was redesigned to have four larger wheels (as opposed to the existing eight on the Switch.) The 2012 will also have a sleek bumper bar (the snack tray will be available, but as a separate purchase only). The 2012 will also come with a coordinating leg cover.
Unfortunately no, we don’t sell the Navetta XL here in the U.S. separately. It is only part of the Pliko Switch Compact Modular System.
Does this help? Let me know if you have any more questions.

Hi Emily
Could you tell me for the pliko switch what colours will be available in the 2012 Europe collection. I am interested in the pois grey.

It weighs approximately 22.35 lbs. The seat back height is approximately 19 inches and from the bottom of the seat back to the canopy it is approximately 23 inches.

Thanks again!
