Mom Knows Best

In honor of Mother’s Day, we thought we’d talk about the Peg Perego stroller that moms everywhere can’t seem to get enough of — the all-new Book! (Plus, we’re giving one away to one very lucky mom, so keep reading … )

Super stylish and modern in design, the Book is certainly quickly becoming a mommy must-have. Why? We asked real moms, and they told us it’s the Book’s many innovative features that make it top their list of baby-gear favorites.

Moms love the Book’s unique fold. Not only is the fold quick and easy, but the Book closes inward (just like a book!), which keeps the upholstery clean and tidy. The Book also stands alone when folded, and once folded, it’s super compact, fitting into even the tightest of spaces.

New moms also tell us they love that the Book is travel-system compatible. Our Primo Viaggio SIP 30-30 car seat attaches directly to the stroller’s retractable anchors, making transitioning from car to stroller and back to car effortless.

Finally, easy-drive wheels with ball bearings and a suspension system that allows for 360-degree agility make the Book easy and effortless to push. The one-piece handlebar adjusts, while an easy-loading storage basket carries all of mom’s (and baby’s) necessities, making the Book the perfect choice for almost any outing.

So, if you’re looking for a mom-approved stroller, definitely consider the Book. We think it would make a great Mother’s Day gift … which brings us to our GIVEAWAY!

In honor of mom’s everywhere, we’re gifting one (very lucky!) mom a brand-new Book stroller!

For your chance to win, comment below and tell us, what’s the best advice you ever received about being a mom? “Sleep when baby sleeps.”  “Take time for yourself.”  “Enjoy every moment; it goes by so fast.” Whatever it is, we want to hear it!

We will randomly select one winner. For your chance to win, comment by 3 p.m. EST, Thursday, May 9. (One comment per family please. Sorry, contest is open to U.S. residents only.)

Good luck!

San Francisco Loves …

After just a few days in San Francisco, we’re already enamored with the Bay Area and all it has to offer kids and families. While visiting the city for Big City Moms Biggest Baby Shower Ever San Francisco, we were particularly impressed with all the exploration that can be done just by walking through the city’s many unique neighborhoods. It’s no wonder that the Journal of American Podiatric Medical Association voted San Francisco one of America’s Greatest Walking Cities.

All this got us thinking: Just what stroller would we recommend to San Francisco’s moms and mommies-to-be? We decided to let them decide …

Hands down, the urban moms we talked to loved, loved, loved our all-new Book Plus.

While the new stroller’s incredible style may have caught their eye first, it was the practicality and versatility that kept their attention. The moms loved that the Book Plus is reversible, allowing baby to face them or the world ahead. And all the extra add-ons, all designed to work perfectly with the Book Plus (like the newborn-perfect Primo Viaggio SIP 30/30 infant car seat, the Navetta XL bassinet and the toddler-ready Pratico Seat), made the Book Plus go to the top of their wish lists. Available accessories like the Snack Tray, Rain Cover and Baby Cushion were just icing on the cake!

Other city mom favorites included our space-saving Rialto booster chair and our always-popular Primo Viaggio SIP 30-30 infant car seat and Primo Viaggio SIP 5-70 Convertible.

Are you a city mom? What are your favorite Peg Perego products? Let us know by commenting below. We’d love to hear from you!

High Chair Lineup

One of the things we’re known for at Peg Perego is our high chairs. Modern in design, and in function, we like to think we have one for every lifestyle. Which one of our five designs is right for your family? We’re so glad you asked …

Introduced just last year, our Siesta is quickly becoming a beloved favorite, especially among new parents who are looking to give baby a seat at the table right from the start.  Truly multifunctional, the Siesta can be used from birth as a recliner and then, as baby grows, as a high chair for feeding, playing and resting. A removable tray and multiple height settings allow it to be pulled right up to the table too, which is perfect for growing toddlers!

The Prima Pappa Zero 3 is the latest addition to our high chair family. With a full recline, it serves as a comfortable recliner for newborn and then easily transforms into a traditional high chair. Plus with height adjustments and a tray that completely removes, you can pull the Prima Pappa Zero 3 right up to the kitchen table too.

Another high chair with multiple uses is our celebrated Tatamia. This versatile baby seat transforms from a recliner to a swing and then to high chair! And its space-saving footprint makes it easy to roll throughout the house. New parents looking to simplify their home will love the Tatamia.

Our version of the classic high chair, the Prima Pappa Best has a finely tailored, buttery-soft (and stain-resistant!) “Prima Classe” upholstered seat. Plus, it has all the little extras Peg Perego high chairs are known for, like adjustable height, Tilt-N-Space recline and a removable, dishwasher-safe tray.

Another forever-favorite, the Prima Pappa Diner is the original Peg Perego high chair. (Fun fact: The Prima Pappa was the very first high chair on the market to introduce a reclining seat feature!) We’ve kept it up to date with great upgrades like  super-chic, colorful designs and modern must-haves like our dishwasher-safe double tray.

So, which one looks good to you? Let us know. We love hearing your feedback!

April Showers

April showers bring … baby showers! Shower season is upon us. And whether you’re throwing a party for a friend or helping plan your own, we have a creative baby shower idea for you: a book-themed baby shower!

We got the idea from one of our new favorite bloggers, and party planner extraordinaire, Meleka of MMJ Events. She planned an entire party centered around everyone’s favorite children’s book classics.

“We knew that instead of a card, we wanted to have guests bring their favorite book as a child, she told the party-planning blog, Hostess with the Mostess. “When thinking about this, I decided to take it a step further and have the whole party be centered around children’s books. I spent some time at the library going through all the books I enjoyed as a child. Seeing the cover of a book I haven’t thought about in 20 years brought a big smile to my face. I checked out 20-plus books and went to work. The inspiration for the food and dessert table all came from details from these old school books.”

And just what do you gift the mommy-to-be at a book-themed baby shower? We have a recommendation: our new Book stroller!

It not only fits the party theme perfectly, but our Book stroller is the perfect choice for the new mom. Fully equipped with all the features, the Book is both stylish and smart. Retractable anchors on the seat create a travel system that allows our Primo Viaggio SIP 30-30 infant car seat to attach right to the stroller, which is just perfect for a new baby. And with multiple recline positions and a capacity up to 55 pounds, the Book is a stroller that Mom and baby will love for years to come.

If you do go with a book theme, here’s a little shower gift from us to you:  a book-themed party game! Download the printable file (and the answer key) here.

Special thanks to Meleka of MMJ Events for sharing her awesome party ideas and to Ashley of Henry Photography for all the beautiful photos, plus Enticing Icings who made the amazing book cake! If you live in or around the Columbus, Ohio, area, be sure to check them out!

In Review: Our Primo Viaggio SIP 5-70 Convertible

Offering the same safety and style as our celebrated Primo Viaggio SIP 30/30 infant car seat, our Primo Viaggio SIP 5-70 Convertible is quickly making a name for itself all on its own.

Following your little one from infancy through toddlerhood by converting from a rear-facing (for children 5 to 45 pounds) to a forward-facing (for children 22 to 70 pounds) seat, the Primo Viaggio SIP 5-70 Convertible is one of the most versatile convertible seats on the market. But don’t take our word for it. Plenty of experts agree …

The editors of Fit Pregnancy included the Peg Perego Primo Viaggio SIP 5-70 Convertible in their 2013 Buyer’s Guide, citing:

“The shock- and energy-absorbing foam of the Peg Perego Primo Viaggio SIP 5-70, combined with its side-impact protection, minimizes collision injuries. For comfort, the wide seat and recline options give extra legroom.”

The Primo Viaggio SIP 5-70 Convertible also made its way onto Baby Center’s Top 15 Baby Products of the Year for 2012.

“Sleek Italian styling (no crazy patterns here!), reliable safety features and thoughtful design make the Primo Viaggio magnifico! A rear-facing weight limit of 45 pounds (the highest on the market) lets you keep your child rear-facing longer. Plus, its shallow front-to-back measurement means more room for the driver or passenger in front and can make this seat fit gracefully into a smaller car. And the harness adjusts in seconds via a pull-tab on the headrest. Other quality features include breathable fabric and a contoured base, for a snug installation in most seats. In a collision, extra-thick shock-absorbing foam in the seat crumples to reduce crash forces in a collision, and a steel plate in the seat reduces forward movement and flexing.”

Pregnancy & Newborn Magazine also applauded the Peg Perego Primo Viaggio SIP 5-70 Convertible Car Seat for its top safety features, specifically calling out the seat’s SIP.

“The SIP of Viaggo SIP 5-70 stands for Side Impact Protection. This system protects your child’s head, neck and spine in the event of impact of the lateral nature. It manages this by allowing you to adjust the seat to 10 different positions. The headrest, recline and shoulder straps all adjust to fit your child. The most convenient part of this perk: You can make all the adjustments you need while your child is sitting in the seat, eliminating the guessing game.”

And the best reviews? Well, they’ve been coming from the very best reviewers — all of you! Real moms and dads on Amazon have given the Primo Viaggio SIP 5-70 Convertible a 5 Star rating. Why? Parents have repeatedly commented on the Convertible’s easy installation and fit (in a variety of vehicles), safety features, style and comfort for baby. Read all the reviews (there are more than 75!) for yourself here.

If you have questions about the Convertible, let us know. And if you have the Primo Viaggio SIP 5-70 Convertible, share your own review by commenting below. We’d love to hear what you think!

Make a (Spring) Break for It!

Spring may be getting a slow start in most parts of the country, but at least we have spring break to look forward to. If you’re off to someplace warm (lucky you!), we thought we’d share with you some of our favorite travel advice for traveling with little ones.

Yes, you should bring your car seat, especially if you are flying. The truth is, a child-restraint system — not your lap — is the safest place for your little one during turbulence or in an emergency.  “Turbulence,” the Federal Aviation Administration says, “can happen with little or no warning. And when it does, the safest place for your child is in a child-restraint system, not in your lap. Your arms just aren’t capable of holding your child securely, especially when turbulence is unexpected.”

But what about getting through security? Lugging it through the airport? And making it fit on those tiny airplane seats? Read how our online associate, Emily, fared flying with her son and his Primo Viaggio SIP 5-70 Convertible here.

And yes, you’ll probably want a stroller too. Which stroller should you bring? We get asked that all the time, and it really depends on where you are going and what you’re doing. Generally, our top travel picks include the very versatile Book Plus, the full-featured Pliko Four and the lightweight Pliko Mini. For siblings, we suggest the Aria Twin 60-40.

Where are you headed for spring break? Let us know if you need travel advice or a stroller recommendation. We’d love to hear from you!

Viaggio sicuro! (Safe travels!)

Mom Knows Best: Real Moms Review the Book Plus

Have you heard? Our new Book Plus is getting great reviews from real moms and mommies-to-be just like you!

Shannon, an experienced mom of three, couldn’t say enough nice things about the all-new Book Plus (thank you, Shannon!) for her blog on The Simple Moms. What topped her list of favorite features?

The seat is adjustable and reversible. You can have your little tike looking at you while chillin’ in the stroller, or you can have him/her looking out … seeing where you are going.  And with the push of two buttons, the pull of two levers and a tiny bit of muscle, the changeup is complete. If your little one is tired, they can recline as well.

The available colors rock! … I received the PINK [Fucsia] option, but it also comes in a fabulous Mentha, Flamenco and others too.

Amazing, ah-mazing, basket under the stroller. It folds down so you can easily get items in and out. The basket is not only easily accessible, it’s huge!

Shannon also loved the compact fold and, last but not least, the included Rain Cover, Adult Cup Holder and Foot Muff.  “Awesome!” Shannon writes. Read her entire review here.

Expectant mom Amy of The Shopping Mama admits the process of choosing a car seat and stroller system can be quite overwhelming, but found our beloved Primo Viaggio SIP 30/30 plus our all-new Book Plus to be the perfect pair:

“Without using the Book Plus stroller, except to push around my living room for fun, it’s hard to appreciate just how awesome this contraption is. I know that it exceeds my list of prerequisite criteria, and its list of other features goes on and on. What I love about the Book Plus is that the car seat snaps onto the stroller frame easily and can face front or back. Aside from the car seat, it has a seat with multiple reclining positions, including totally flat like a bassinet, a sun visor with peekaboo window, front bar and cold weather foot muff, which awesomely enough also switches from forward to rear facing with just a quick snap.”

Amy’s husband liked the cool black “rims” and the adjustable handlebar, and they both loved how easily and compactly the Book Plus folds. You can read Amy’s full review of the new Book Plus here.

While we loved hearing the features and benefits of the Book Plus that Amy liked, what we truly loved (and we think you will too) was her excitement for the little one on the way. As parents ourselves, we remember that feeling — and still cherish it.

“It’s hard to believe that in just a few short days (or a week, or hopefully not two), I’ll be strapping my tiny little guy or girl into that darling grey polka dot car seat, loading him or her into the car and driving the hour home to our house. I will definitely sit in the back seat and stare at my little amazing creature the whole way. Don’t worry, I’ll take pictures.” (Please do, Amy! We can’t wait to see them!)

And if you need help finding the perfect stroller for your new baby, let us know by commenting below. We’d love to help!

We ♥ L.A.!

The Santa Monica Pier. Venice Beach. Looking for stars on the Hollywood Walk of Fame. Shopping at the Grove. You know what they say… when duty calls!

We just returned from the Big City Moms’ Biggest Baby Shower Ever – Los Angeles, and while we had an amazing time, the best part had to be meeting so many of you! We loved chatting with new moms and mommies-to-be and hearing such great feedback. (What topped our L.A. fans’ wish lists? The new Book Plus stroller, followed by our yet-to-be released Rialto booster and our celebrated Primo Viaggio SIP 5-70 Convertible car seat. The moms also couldn’t get enough of our new colorways — especially Fucsia.)

Thank you to our hosts, Big City Moms! We had an amazing time! In the last few months, we’ve been to New York, Toronto and then Los Angeles. Where should we head next?

A Closer Look: Prima Pappa Zero 3

We’re expecting! The newest addition to the Peg Perego family, the Prima Pappa Zero 3 high chair, is expected to arrive stateside (direct from Italy!) later this week, and we couldn’t be more excited.

The Prima Pappa Zero 3 is one of the only high chairs on the market (in addition to our very own Tatamia and Siesta) that can be used from birth. With a full recline, it serves as a comfortable recliner for newborn and then easily transforms into a traditional high chair.

And the Prima Pappa Zero 3 continues to grow with your child. With seven different height adjustments and a tray that completely removes, you can pull the Prima Pappa Zero 3 right up to the kitchen table. With its four non-scratching rubber wheels and super-compact fold, it’s very easy to maneuver and surprisingly compact.

The Prima Pappa Zero 3 is available in four colorways: sophisticated Savanna Cacao and Savanna Beige and the more whimsical Giraffa Glicine and Giraffa Verde, which both feature a super-fun giraffe illustration.

Pronti per la pappa? (Ready to eat?) The Prima Pappa Zero 3 will be available in select stores soon. To find a Peg Perego retailer near you, use our online Store Locator.
