And the Mommies Love …

We just returned from Big City Moms’ Biggest Baby Shower Ever, where we shared our newest collection with the mommies-to-be of New York City. These city moms had plenty to say, and we were certainly taking notes …

The moms we met loved, loved, loved our new Siesta. The fact that you can use it from birth really made this high chair stand out, especially since so few high chairs offer the recline feature that makes our Siesta oh-so-very special. The attendees also loved the Siesta’s sleek style and chic colors.

The new-for-2013 Book Plus was also a huge hit among the moms, who loved it most for its exceptional maneuverability. The expectant moms we talked to also liked the reversible seat and the plush fabric, both of which they thought would be very comforting to baby.

The urban moms were also big fans of our space-saving Rialto. New for 2013, this booster seat dining chair allows baby to sit right at the table. The city moms we talked to loved the Rialto’s smart design and were most wowed by its super-compact fold and light weight. They thought it would be perfect for their on-the-go city lifestyle and ideal for dinner parties and restaurants.

Our always-popular car seats received a lot of attention too, as the entire Viaggio series is really known throughout New York (and the world!) for its safety and style. We saw lots of mommies-to-be picking up and testing out our Primo Viaggio SIP 30-30 infant car seat, which is our top pick for newborns.

We really enjoy hearing from real moms (and dads!), and we’d love to hear what you think too. Let us know your thoughts on our 2013 Collection by leaving a comment below.

Let Us Give Thanks

This time of year, we can’t help getting a little sentimental thinking about all that we have to be thankful for this Thanksgiving … our jobs, each other and, of course, our families.

When building products for families across the globe, it is often our own families, and our own children, who inspire us to create them with such love and commitment. So, this Thanksgiving season, we thought we’d share (some very adorable, if we do say so ourselves) pictures of just a few of our own little ones who inspire us each day to build products that meet the needs of families worldwide

After more than 60 years, we are proud of this tradition, and we are privileged to have shared in the responsibility of watching over your little ones for so many years

From the Peg Perego family to yours, we wish you a very happy Thanksgiving!

Help After Hurricane Sandy

Our hearts continue to be with everyone affected by Hurricane Sandy. We know we have many Peg Perego families on the East Coast, and we hope all of you are safe and well. This week we wanted to use Ciao, Mondo as a place to share information about a few of the groups organizing relief for the families, and specifically children, in need. If you have more information to add, please do so by leaving a comment below.

Baby Buggy: We plan to make a donation to Baby Buggy. We have long loved Baby Buggy for the work it does year-round getting baby essentials into the hands of families in need. The New York-based nonprofit is reporting that more than 2,100 families in its network are from in the hardest-hit areas of Staten Island and the Rockaways. Pressing needs for those families include diapers, baby formula and portable and mini-cribs. To donate these items, and/or your time or money, visit the Baby Buggy website. They’ve set up a special Hurricane Sandy Relief page from which you can purchase the items needed most, like diapers and formula. There is also an urgent need for warm coats for children. Sizes 0 – 5 are ideal, but they’ll take up to size 14. Coats can be shipped directly to Baby Buggy, 306 W. 37th St., 8th Floor, New York, NY 10018.

K.I.D.S. Inc.: Another New York-based organization, Kids In Distressed Situations, Inc. has mobilized its resources in order to get much-needed items, like new clothing, blankets, shoes, toys and baby products, in the hands of children and families affected by Superstorm Sandy. While K.I.D.S. only accepts brand-new products for donation, you can still help by making a cash donation. Visit their website to learn more, or to donate $10 to K.I.D.S., simply text GIVE 8000 to 80088.

American Red Cross: The American Red Cross is in communities right now providing aid to the thousands of families affected by Hurricane Sandy. Shelters are open in multiple states, and workers have been driving up and down neighborhood streets in Long Island, Manhattan, Staten Island, New Jersey and West Virginia with hot meals, toiletries, blankets and cleanup supplies. To support the Red Cross in its disaster relief, visit redcross.org, call 1-800-RED CROSS (1-800-733-2767) or text the word REDCROSS to 90999 to make a $10 donation. You can also use the “donate” feature on the free Red Cross Apps for mobile devices to support this relief response. Contributions may also be sent to local Red Cross chapters or to the American Red Cross, P.O. Box 37243, Washington, DC 20013.

Looking for even more ways to help? Our friends at Cool Mom Picks have put together a list of more than a dozen ways you can help, many of them local. Check out their list here.

And again, if you have relief information to share, please do so by commenting below.

Pretty in Pink

Loved by little girls everywhere, nothing quite says pretty like pink. That’s why we’re so excited to be offering a much-requested, on-trend and totally in-style pink for 2013. The shade we choose, Fucsia, is more than a bright beauty; it’s also one of the hottest colors for the new year ahead.

While pink has made a strong showing on the high-fashion runways for the past few seasons, for 2013 we’re seeing in-demand pinks move away from sweet and girly toward more polished and sophisticated. They are brighter, and most definitely bolder. Think vibrant honeysuckle, cheery cerise and energetic magenta.

Yes, hot pinks are definitely hot for 2013, and our own Fucsia is no exception.

Each of our car seats — the Primo Viaggio SIP 30-30 infant car seat, the Primo Viaggio SIP 5-70 Convertible and the Viaggio HBB 120 booster — will be available in Fucsia in 2013, as will our new Book and Book Plus strollers.

Tell us, what do you think of the new Fucsia collection?
